  • Which country should I study in? Which is the best country for abroad education?

    A. There is no rule of thumb that applies to choosing the country for an education abroad because there are numerous options of courses and programs. Also, it depends on various other bases such as the background and requirements of the student. For example, a student with great academics aspiring for a post graduate education in automotive engineering can choose Germany, on the other hand, New Zealand or Australia could be the apt options for a student aspiring for master’s in viticulture or wine technology, whereas a student aiming for a 12-month master’s in business administration may choose U.K. Thus, an ideal choice of country depends upon numerous factors and criteria.

  • Is an abroad education affordable for a middle class student?

    A. Studying abroad may seem very expensive on paper and may appear to be out of reach. But, with proper planning and expedient choosing, the costs could be kept low. Also, options such as scholarships, research assistantships, teaching assistantships, graduate assistantships, on/off campus jobs, and loans from Indian banks and abroad can drastically minimize and/ or reduce the fees and expenses. A student has to be diligent and willing to put in his / her best efforts to avail himself/ herself of the various ways and resources that make an abroad education affordable.

  • What is the loan amount that could be procured for studying abroad?

    A. There are two institutional loan options that a student can avail of for studying abroad – loan from an Indian bank or loan from a foreign bank. A student can get a loan of up to Rs. 20 lakhs from an Indian bank. However, the amount and the criteria may vary from bank to bank. As far as loans from foreign bank is concerned, the amounts vary from country to country and the criteria may be different for each country. However, when taking a loan from a foreign bank, a student needs to have a co-signer from that country to be eligible for the loan.

  • Is there any age limit for studying abroad?

    A. There is no age limit for studying abroad. The universities abroad are quite flexible about the age limits and don’t have an upper or lower limit on age. A.S.A.C. has sent people of aged 50 and above for various courses in management and business. Thus, from our experience we can vouch for the fact that age is not a deciding or crucial factor in the study abroad plan, determination is.

  • How much time does the entire process take from India?

    A. The time required for the study abroad plan and the processes involved vary from country to country. It may take as short as 2 months or as long as a year for all the preparations and processes from India.

  • Is it compulsory to appear for GRE/GMAT/ SAT?

    A. Generally, a student aspiring to pursue a master (graduate) or under graduate studies in the U.S.A. and in some specific colleges and universities in other countries has to appear for GRE/GMAT/SAT. GRE is for a master’s or doctoral program, GMAT is for an MBA program and SAT is for B.S. or under graduate studies. There are many colleges and universities even in the U.S.A. which don’t mandate a student to appear for any of these tests. Nevertheless, to be eligible for competitive and esteemed and state universities in the U.S.A., it is highly advisable and recommended that a student appear for GRE/GMAT/ SAT as required by the course or program.

 

  • Can’t a person go for a job abroad after graduating from an Indian institute?
